Our methodology
Every operator listed on DailyStash goes through the same review pass, run by a Canadian editor on a Canadian IP, using their own money. Nothing on this page is theoretical — if a step fails, the brand does not get a "Verified" badge and does not appear in ranked shortlists.
The five-step review pass
1. Real signup on a Canadian IP
We register a fresh account from Canada with a real name and address. We time the signup end to end, note every KYC document requested, and record any provinces the operator silently blocks at registration.
2. Deposit with a rail Canadians actually use
Interac e-Transfer is the priority test; we also try Interac Online, Visa Debit, and direct bank where offered. We record min deposits, fees the operator didn't publish, and how long the balance took to clear.
3. Play, place bets, and read the bonus fine print
We claim the welcome bonus (when eligible), then read the terms line by line: wagering multiplier, game weighting, max bet while wagering, expiry window, and any cash-out ceiling. If a bonus is functionally unclearable, we say so in the review.
4. Request a real withdrawal
We initiate a real cash-out and time it from request to funds in the bank. We log any additional KYC triggered by the withdrawal, minimums, and fees. Withdrawal reliability is the single most weighted category in our score.
5. Verify the licence and responsible-gambling tools
We confirm the operator's licence against AGCO (Ontario), Kahnawake, MGA, or the relevant provincial regulator, and we test the responsible-gambling tools in-product — deposit limits, cool-off, time-outs, and self-exclusion must actually work, not just exist on a policy page.
Scoring rubric (100 points)
- Withdrawals (20 pts) — request-to-receipt time, additional verification, fees, reliability.
- Account creation (15 pts) — signup time, KYC friction, mobile experience, province coverage.
- Deposits (15 pts) — Interac support, speed, fees, limits, undisclosed charges.
- Game / market quality (15 pts) — providers, RTP disclosure, market depth, in-play, odds vs. reference books.
- Bonus terms (15 pts) — wagering, weighting, caps, expiry, real-world clearability.
- Customer support (10 pts) — channels, response time, response quality, hours.
- Trust & compliance (10 pts) — provincial licensing, years operating, RG tools, reputation.
Re-testing & freshness
Every verified operator is re-tested at least every 90 days. Bonus terms, payment methods, and licence status are re-checked at each pass. If quality drops — slower withdrawals, worsened terms, unresolved complaints — the score drops with it and the brand can lose its shortlist position or verified badge entirely.
Editorial independence
Some operators pay us a commission when a reader signs up through one of our links (see our affiliate disclosure). That revenue funds the testing above and nothing else. Operators cannot pay for a higher score, a better shortlist position, or the removal of criticism. Score and commercial relationship are decided by different people and reviewed separately before publication.
Mistakes & corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it on the page and log the change in our corrections policy. Operators or readers can flag factual errors via contact; we respond within five business days.
Who runs the reviews
Reviews are written by the DailyStash editorial collective — Canadian editors with hands-on iGaming, payments, and consumer-protection backgrounds. Bylines, roles, and areas of coverage are listed on our authors page and our full editorial policy.
